Today's program took a twist as COCIN LCC Jos Jarawa held an eye opening sensitisation on ELECTION MATTERS by Dr. Reuel Johnmark Dakung- The Liberation Matter -"Removing the cobweb of political ignorance".

The session began with an opening prayer by Elder Danny Ajik.

Thereafter, an excellent and insightful poem presentation by Rinnan Reuel Dakung  titled " Peace and Unity.

The speaker began by stating clearly that he is not affiliated to any political party but to make everyone understand his/ her role as a citizen.

He said:" Why we are where we are today is because we folded our hands and allowed Dullards rule".

Furthermore, the speaker outlined  Catastrophic Situations ravaging Nigeria, which are;

1. Nigeria is a total failure as a country in all fronts.

2. Insecurity, poverty, and unemployment have brought the nation to stagnation.

3. The evil forces- Dullards, Vampires, terrorists, have climbed the shoulder of political leadership and are tearing the country apart.

But then big question is WHY?, Why are we in the mess we are?

 "It's because  the Christians have remained quiet/ sleeping and hating on politics which has created a DEADLY COBWEB"- He said.

He explained vividly the kind of people we have in the country, and he asked; Who Are You? ( in the political phase).

1. Idiot/ clown: A self centered person who cheats, steal, doesn't give a damn, and who is generally indiscipline. A terrible person. In 2023, if you don't give a damn, the you're an idiot and are doomed

2. Tribes Man: One who views everything from the tribal perspective and who is not objective. This person believes only in himself and his tribe. Tribalism has killed us and we must rise to our responsibilities.

3. A citizen: He does things the right way, cares about others and seek the transformation of the society. one who is compassionate and Respects the law. Such person makes a great leader.

" Truth by nature is self evidence. As soon as you remove the cobwebs of ignorance" - Mahatma Gandhi.

Dr. Reuel voiced out with a loud voice to CHRISTIAN YOUTHS. He said "now is the time to remove the cobwebs of ignorance". And made clear our real identity; and how we attribute the best qualities needed to govern a country successfully. Every Christian should have the competence instead of allowing Dullards.

And tagging along Bible references- 2Kings : 7, Proverbs 31: 8-9, Nehemiah 2: 1-9. While challenging the Nigerian christian youths to borrow from the wisdom of the four lepers and what they did uniquely. They said "we we stay here we die, but if we move we may live. He added by saying " we all have to present ourselves, go out and demonstrate our franchise.

Some Biblical Examples of Great Men were given like

1. Daniel ( Daniel 2:46-49)

2. Joseph (Genesis 41)

3. Nehemiah.

The speaker charged the congregation by giving some take away package on how to play your part as a citizen;

1. Educate your family members, friends and community about the need to vote ethically.

2. Make sure your register when the time avails itself.

3. If your are not eligible, encourage your parents and those eligible to register and vote on election day.

4. Your engagement in the process could yield the best result.

He concluded by giving example of heroes and heroins who paid the price for you and I. Then how about You? And noting that "The bible is hugely political".

The service was conducted by Saltifat Adams with song ministration from the Church Band.

The closing prayer was said by Rtd. Rev. Markus Atsen.
